The VA loan was designed to give veterans the best home buying benefit in the country.
What happened instead was simple: the system was designed for commissions, and no one had an incentive to help veterans fully understand their VA loan.
Loan officers and realtors aren’t the villains. They’re just rational actors inside a system that doesn’t incentivize them for serving veterans who aren’t ready to close today. Veterans, trained by military culture to handle problems quietly and defer to institutional authority, are unlikely to push back.
HomeReadyVets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit exists to help veterans use every VA loan benefit they earned by serving their country. It also gives realtors and loan officers a way to build and maintain relationships instead of turning away veterans who aren’t ready to buy yet.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, HomeReadyVets can provide services to veterans at no cost.

HomeReadyVets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We’re the only VA loan education service that has no financial stake in which lender the veteran chooses.
ON YOUR TIMELINE
We serve veterans who are not ready to buy today so they are ready when it matters. Every other service does this with a sales pitch attached.
HAND-WRAPPED REFERRALS
Referral partners receive pre-vetted, pre-educated, emotionally ready veteran buyers. This relationship funds the mission without charging the veteran.
